OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

    •  To provide institutional infrastructure and mechanisms for the development and commercialization of Research and Development outputs and innovation.

•  To effectively involve all relevant stakeholders in the establishment of Technology Incubation Centers across the country.

•  To source and develop commercialisable indigenous and foreign technologies.

•  To source funds for the implementation of the Programme.

•  To source entrepreneurs and investors for the commercialization of chosen technologies.

•  To ensure competitiveness of the products of the Programme.

•  To ensure efficient and effective performance leading to accelerated growth of entrepreneurs in the Programme.

•  To subsidize all services provided by the Technology Incubation Programme to reduce the overhead burdens of start-up companies.

•  To ensure compliance with policy and regulations of the Programme.

•  To provide post incubation survival scheme for the companies graduated from the programme.

3.1 Strategies

•  Establishing of effective linkages between technology providers, entrepreneurs and capital for the creation of viable technology based enterprises.

•  Providing institutional infrastructure and mechanisms for the development and commercialization of indigenous and foreign technologies.

•  Collaboration with all relevant stake holders in the establishment of technology Incubation centres.

•  Publicizing available and viable technologies using relevant media.

•  Encouraging universities, polytechnics, research institutes, inventors and innovators in the formation of start-up companies

•  Ensuring competitiveness of the products of the programme.

•  Providing post-incubation survival schemes for the companies graduated from the programme.

•  Imparting practical and result oriented training in Business Development and Industrial Trades to all stakeholders.

•  Monitoring the development of prototypes of machines, equipment and tools, which could be passed on to the manufacturing units for commercial production.

•  Providing common facilities in such areas as testing, machining, castings, electroplating, quality control laboratories etc.

•  Encouraging the production of machines and equipment of acceptable standards.

•  Commercializing R & D results in critical areas such as waste utilization, alternative sources of energy etc.

•  Ensuring that new ideas/products evolve into fruitful technical/manufacturing businesses that use the available raw materials in the country.

•  Offering engineering services such as Design, Testing, Process development, Product evaluation, monitoring and improvement.
