Irish investors to invest in NBTI Entrepreneurs

Mr. Fred Klinkenberg African Director for Enterprise Ireland, has paid a courtesy visit to the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI) on Wednesday 10/4/19 in Abuja

He said he was on a visit to familiarize with NBTI activities and to seek ways of synergizing to help promote the growth of SME’s in the country, he further added that Ireland has attracted 20% of the Dollar investment by America in Europe. He buttressed the fact that Ireland has four hundred (400) active companies in Africa.

Mr. Klinkenberg further said that Ireland transformed its economy from a story of poverty and challenges to a successful economy that is now reckoned with in ICT, International Trade and Investment, Pharmaceuticals and Agriculture. According to him, Ireland exports per annum is worth $300 billion and it’s the second most open economy of the world.

In his remark, the Director General/CEO of NBTI, Engr. Dr. Mohammed Jibrin welcomed Mr. Fred Klinkenberg and assured that the Board will work with Enterprise Ireland to improve on the quality of products from NBTI and create a funding platform that would attract investors from Ireland to invest in the development of companies in Nigeria.

Dr. Jibrin emphasized that the collaboration would include the Tour of the facilities in the Ireland to enable the NBTI benefit from them. Saying NBTI would work with Enterprise Ireland and give the necessary support to research and development from the university which according to him is the primary mandate of the agency.

The Director General however noted that,s another crucial area that the board would collaborate with the Enterprise Ireland is through technology transfer. He said technology transfer from Ireland would benefit Nigeria and accelerate the industrial development of the country.
